Celebrity Cafe and Bakery

Head over to nearby Frisco and check out Celebrity Cafe and Bakery at 3520 Preston Rd. Offering specialty treats for just about any occasion, you can enjoy colorful iced sugar cookies, a variety of cupcakes, pies, brownies, and petit fours. You can even order breakfast or lunch and finish off your meal with one of their delicious desserts.

One of the bakery’s signature offerings is its incredible custom cakes, which are designed and baked in-house. You can work directly with the bakery’s team or create something unique. Even if you need a last-minute cake, the bakery can typically prepare a customized dessert to fit your particular occasion.  Unless you’re having dessert for dinner, you might want to visit these popular hamburger joints or BBQ spots for a mouth-watering meal!

Cow Tipping Creamery

Begun as a small, family-run ice cream business that sold its desserts out of a truck, Cow Tipping Creamery has three brick-and-mortar locations in Texas that offer unique soft-serve desserts. Stop into the Frisco location at 3685 The Star Blvd. and try one of its soft-serve creations infused with fresh ingredients. Try any one of the less-conventional toppings, such as Funfetti cake bites, birthday cake crumbs, and blue sugar crystals atop your vanilla or chocolate base for a simply scrumptious dessert.

Its Stackers, which are the shop’s version of a sundae, have alternating layers of homemade toppings and baked goods so that every bite has a little something of everything. A popular Stacker is the Gimme S’More Stacker, which has toasted marshmallows, Ghiradelli chocolate chips, molasses graham crumble, and chocolate sauce.

Heavenly Kup

Found at 6505 W. Park Blvd., Heavenly Kup offers unique flavors of shaved ice served in amazing one-of-a-kind creations. Order a honeydew that is cut in half and filled with shaved ice, or try the mango shaved ice cup. Most of the shaved ice desserts come served with several slices of fruit or cookies, adding an extra layer to the refreshing treats. Another dessert to try is its Taiyaki, which are fish-shaped waffles filled with cheese, Nutella, or custard. 

Milky Treats

A nonconventional ice cream shop found at 7000 Independence Pky., Milky Treats is the result of two best friends collaborating to create excellent food and share good vibes. After opening in 2018, the shop became the first in the area to serve cereal-infused ice cream thanks to its custom aeronautic-grade steel blender that makes the ice cream rich and packed full of flavor. Unlike other ice cream shops, Milky Treats places the toppings directly into the treat, giving you a more intense flavor.

It offers 15 unique and handcrafted flavors, each one made in small batches. Some of these flavors include Coffee & Creams, Cake by the Ocean, Unicorn Brownie, and Salty Toffee. The shop keeps its ingredients local and only uses locally sourced 14% premium milk fat. You can enjoy your ice cream served in a homemade waffle cone or cup or go for something a little more extreme and have it pressed in between a warm donut.

Sugar Pine Creamery

Located at 6832 Coit Rd., the Sugar Pine Creamery serves a variety of soft-serve ice cream flavors beyond the traditional chocolate and vanilla. It infuses flavors that customers grew up with along with new flavors to create soft-serve offerings highlighting Eastern and Western tastes. By only using the freshest, premium ingredients, the shop has six flavors at any time, two of which are dairy-free. Flavors change every two weeks, and you can expect a combination of customer favorites and brand-new offerings.

Sugar Ray’s Bake Shop

Established in 2013, Sugar Ray’s Bake Shop the shop serves more than three dozen varieties of cupcakes and cakes as well as more than a dozen macaron flavors out of its 4021 Preston Rd. location. You can also order sugar cookie kits, which include six sugar cookies, colored frosting, and sprinkles. Each day the bakery prepares four different varieties of cookies, some of which include double chocolate, orange cranberry, and old-fashioned chocolate.

If you’re interested in learning the tricks to making one of the best macarons in the area, the shop offers classes that last approximately 1.5 hours. For a flat fee, you receive popcorn, all the macarons you make, and wine for those who are 21 and older.

Sweet Daze Dessert Bar

Located in nearby Richardson at 581 W. Campbell Rd., the Sweet Daze Dessert Bar combines donuts with soft-serve ice cream, including vegan and dairy-free flavors. An offshoot of OMG Tacos, which is a California-style taqueria, the ice cream shop provides plenty of creativity in its dessert offerings. Its varied donut flavors have creative toppings and you can order loaded donut holes and choose the toppings. If you can’t decide if you want a cool drink or a sweet treat, the shop serves delicious treats placed atop drinks.

Its soft serve is made from scratch daily, and some of its flavors include Black Velvet, Vegan Pineapple Dole Whip, and Vegan Watermelon Jolly Rancher. Its signature scoopable flavors vary, and you can try Birthday Cake, Chocolate Fudge Brownie, Cookie Monster, and Fruity Pebbles. There are also seasonal flavors and boozy ice cream flavors, but you must be 21 and older to order those. If you’re not in the mood for ice cream, try one of its cake slices, dessert bars, and cereal pops.
