The H-E-B Central Market Balloon Plano Balloon Festival & Run is a four-day festival in Plano from Sept. 22-25, 2022. This popular event raises money for various nonprofit organizations operating in the Plano area. Over the past 41 years, the festival has raised over $3 million for different organizations, all while providing a fun and exciting annual event for Plano families. The event is appropriate for all ages, with activities for children and adults.

The main attractions are the balloon launches and the parachute exhibitions by the RE/MAX of Texas Parachute Team. Still, there will also be concerts, fireworks, a half-marathon, and a 10K run. You can find a tentative schedule of events on the festival’s website, along with information about tickets and parking.

Plano International Festival

On Saturday, Oct. 15, 2022, the Plano International Festival will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Haggard Park. This festival has been going on for 18 years, making it the most significant and longest-running international festival in our region. Visitors can watch stage shows highlighting cultural music and dances from across the globe, browse handmade goods, and eat tasty food from local food trucks. Along with the stage shows during the festival, there will be a concert at 7 p.m., featuring cultural dances accompanied by the Plano Symphony’s string ensemble.

Admission to the Plano International Festival is free, but food and other vendor items might cost money. While the entire festival is family-friendly, the Children’s Global Village will offer child-focused crafts and activities for younger visitors. If you or your organization are interested in supporting the festival, the nonprofit group organizing the event accepts both volunteer applications and corporate sponsorships.

Rest in Plano and Apparition Expedition

The Rest in Plano and Apparition Expedition comes to Downtown Plano on Oct. 22, 2022, from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. A celebration of all things spooky, this festival is an expansion of the popular Apparition Expedition tours, which have taken place in the city center for several years. These tours, which will return this year, take visitors on a journey through Plano’s spookiest historic buildings, stopping for a closer look at the phantom sculptures that appear every October in the arts district. According to Texas Highways, this year’s festival will also include musicians and performers.

The city is still accepting applications for vendors and sponsors, so the festival’s offerings will be a surprise to visitors. Ticket prices have yet to be announced, but last year’s tickets for the Apparition Expedition cost $10, plus a $2 service fee. While the Apparition Expedition might be too scary for younger visitors, the festival might have more kid-friendly booths in the downtown area.
