St. Patrick’s Day Events in Plano, TX

It is time to put away the beer and corned beef for another year and go green instead! So when you walk down the streets of Plano, Texas, on March 17, 2022, you’ll see quite a few celebrations going on in different areas of the city.

Although many places are only hosting their first event this year, plenty of great Irish traditions is still going on around the area. We will highlight a few occasions in and around the Plano area to help you find unique Irish entertainment and partake in one of the best celebrations during St. Patrick’s Day week. So have a look at these three key events and activities.

The 41st edition of the Dallas St. Patrick’s Parade and Festival is scheduled for Saturday, March 12, 2022. You’ll get to enjoy the giant green leprechaun decorations on the streets and see hundreds of people dressed in different costumes, as well as enjoy free games, entertainment, food, and other exciting activities.

It is expected that over 1 million people will show up to celebrate this holiday and come together for a night of fun and community building. This is one of the most anticipated parades in the country and should not be missed by anyone with Irish heritage. It is worth checking out if you have never attended before.

This 41st annual St. Patrick’s parade is open to all age groups. It is definitely worth checking out, especially if you have never had the chance to attend before.

McKinney St. Patrick’s Day Shamrock Run 5k & Fun Run

McKinney St. Patrick’s Day Shamrock Run 5k & Fun Run is scheduled for Saturday, March 12, 2022. Every year the City of McKinney invites everyone to join in on their most significant event of the year. If you are an avid runner, this is the perfect race. The race begins at the TUPPS Brewery at 9 a.m.

After that, you’ll run around the McKinney Cotton Mill before finishing and receiving your lucky finisher medal! There will also be refreshments along the way for all runners to enjoy. And if Fido needs his morning run, you’ll be set — friendly dogs on leashes are welcome to participate.

Be one of the top overalls in the race and be awarded cash prizes: $100 for first place, $50 for second place, and $25 for third place. On top of this, you also got a chance of becoming the first place stroller strider to be awarded $25. You can even bring the kids along to run with you! The age groups are 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 and over.

The good news about the annual McKinney Shamrock 5k and Fun Run is that you can pick up a packet for someone else in their absence. You don’t have to worry, the pickup will be done based on the last name, so this makes it easy to identify the line where to pick up the packet for your partner.

You will also need to show the email barcode to pick up the packet, and you don’t have to print it. Therefore, you don’t have any reason to miss the 2022 fifth annual McKinney Shamrock 5k and Fun Run.

The 5th Annual Lucky’s St. Patrick’s Day Bar Crawl

We’ve heard about some lucky clovers being found during our St. Patrick’s Day events here in Texas, but nothing as magical as finding an actual four-leaf clover during the Lucky’s St. Patrick’s Day Bar Crawl. Registration is $15 for a single ticket and $10 for each person in a group of four or more. Check-in is 4-6 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, at Blackfriar Pub on McKinney Avenue. Show the staff your ticket QR code and you’ll get your lanyard and event badge.

The crawl itself gets started at 4 p.m. There is no set agenda, but there are a ton of participating bars with drink and food specials for the evening. Establishments that are part of the crawl include Clutch, Cutiepies Pizza, Ill Minster Pub, Kung Fu Saloon, Longshots, and Playground. If you have your event badge on you, all cover charges will be waved.

There’s also the costume contest, where you’ll have a chance to win $500. Get your picture taken by one of the official Crawl With Us photographers during check-in to participate. The event photos will be uploaded to Facebook during the following week, so be sure to follow Crawl With Us so you can tag yourself and your friends. The photo with the most likes by Monday, March 23, will win four tickets to the next event and be entered into the national costume contest between the winners in other cities. The final winner from all participating cities will win $500.

From 10 p.m. to 2 p.m., there will be an amazing afterparty at Clutch, featuring a special guest DJ. Keep in touch and stay updated so that you don’t miss the Luckiest Bar Crawl of the year 2022.
