If you’re looking for a fun day out in Plano, the Boardwalk in Granite Park has some great activities and facilities to offer. From a wide selection of places to eat to inspiring sea-front views, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. The Boardwalk is an excellent location for a date night, a family get-together, or a relaxing evening with friends. Here’s a look at some of the most exciting things you’ll find there.

Eating Out

Whether you’re looking for a restaurant with a great lunch menu or a bar to enjoy a drink and a bite to eat in the evening, the Boardwalk’s seven restaurant options spread across its 30,000 square feet have you covered.

Wherever you decide to eat on the Boardwalk, you’ll be able to enjoy a terrific waterfront view. This close connection with the outdoors is part of the Boardwalk’s ethos, which is about promoting healthy living and social activities all year round. If you’re looking for a classic burger or salad, you’ll struggle to do better than Chips Old Fashioned Hamburgers, a locally-owned restaurant that’s also well-known for excellent fresh fish and Tex-Mex dishes.

For those more interested in unique cocktails and other drinks, try dropping by Union Bear, a West Coast-themed joint that’s also home to a brewery. They have a line of their own craft beers, and you can also speak with the brewers. In terms of food, they’ve got everything from breakfast tacos to baked snacks. There are also platters on offer if you’d just like to share a light snack with friends while having a drink.

All restaurants on the Boardwalk feature their own patio with deckchairs so you can relax and enjoy the view with your friends or family.

Bavette Grill is where you’ll want to stop by if you’re into fresh steaks and other modern American fair. The Grill also has its own garden, where 36 organic herbs are grown. The combination of modern American food and locally-sourced herbs will help create a unique taste for you to enjoy.

Golden Boy Coffee caters to fans of coffee and big breakfasts. This Texas-based coffee shop, bakery, and bar offers its own unique coffee drinks, including the Honey Bear Latte.

The Biscuit Bar gives traditional Southern cooking a modern twist. It serves biscuits with a diverse range of accompaniments, making it a suitable location for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. You’ll find everything there from a normal biscuit to a Southern fried chicken biscuit or one with jack cheese.

Music and Entertainment

The multi-purpose pavilion at the Boardwalk is the ideal location to enjoy a performance by a live band or singer/songwriter. The pavilion also provides space for private events, whether they be corporate affairs or a more relaxed celebration involving your friends.

The pavilion offers community activities and charity events with the aim of bringing people together. Its aim is to create an urban community feel in the heart of Plano where everyone is welcome, whether they’re participating in a fitness class or just taking a stroll.

Family-Friendly Atmosphere

The Boardwalk offers plenty of options to keep your kids entertained. While you’re enjoying the seafront view or playing a game of ping pong, your kids can play in the giant sand box or clamber on the climbing frame.

The Boardwalk also plays host to regular events. These include things like farmers’ markets, fitness classes, and community walks.

During the summer months, you can also enjoy outdoor movie nights with your friends and family. One of the great things about these screenings is that you can pick up a drink or a bite to eat from the restaurant of your choice to enjoy during the movie. The movies are usually screened on a Friday evening beginning at 8:30 p.m. The selection of movies is diverse, but typically you’ll find classic movies on the menu. Be sure to check out some of these local parks in the Lewisville, TX area. These parks are also dog-friendly!

Hotels and Office Space

Whether you’re in the area for a vacation or for work, the Boardwalk is the perfect place to stay. The Hilton Dallas/Plano Granite Park has 299 guest rooms and an on-site restaurant. The hotel provides you with the perfect base to casually explore what the Boardwalk and surrounding area have to offer during your vacation. Alternatively, if you’re here for work, take advantage of the hotel’s meeting rooms, which can host events with up to 1,300 guests.

Explore Granite Park

Once you’ve experienced what the Boardwalk has to offer, why not take a stroll through Granite Park? You’ll find modern fitness centers, retail options, and easily accessible office space.

The waterfront offers a great environment for you to explore the artwork on display from local artists. On the first Friday of every month, you can participate in the art walk, which lasts for four hours and gives you time to discover Granite Park’s artistic treasures.

Every Sunday, you can visit the farmers’ market. Local producers offer fresh vegetables and other foodstuffs, as well as homemade goods. It’s a good idea to check the weather if you plan on going, since the market may be postponed in the event of rain.
